Greed and miserliness are the main causes for birth in the hungry ghost realm. They suffer from addictions, compulsions and obsessions. Happiness, fulfillment, always eludes them. Hungry ghosts are to be greatly pitied. This is the story of the Johnson family of Marshall, Oklahoma, and the hungry ghost, in the form of a stepmother, that came to live with them.
